Father Myles P. Murphy attended college at St. John's University before entering the St. John Neumann Residence in 1986. After, one year at Neuman, Father entered St. Joseph's Seminary to complete his studies for the priesthood. He was ordained in 1990 at St. Patrick's Cathedral by John Cardinal O'Connor and is a priest in the Archdiocese of New York. Father Murphy was Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Elmsford, and at St. Gabriel's Parish in Riverdale before coming to St. Michael's.

Fr. Murphy is past President of the Mariological Society of America and is on the faculty of the St. Joseph's Seminary Institute of Religious Studies and the New York State Catholic Evidence Guild. He has also taught at the International Institute for Clergy Formation at Seton Hall University, New Jersey, and the Center for Spiritual Development in Rye, New York. He is a also a member of the Speakers Bureau at the Marian Library/International Marian Research Institute, Dayton, Ohio. Father Murphy received an S.T.L. in Sacred Theology from the International Marian Research Institute in Dayton, Ohio. The Institute is an annex of the Marianum, a Pontifical Institute for Theological Studies in Rome.

I am a Claretian Missionary Priest of the Claretian Province of Nigeria. I was born in Ihitte Ezinihitte Mbaise of Imo State, Nigeria. I joined the Claretian Congregation in 1984, had my final profession in 1991 and was ordained a priest on July 3, 1993. I studied Philosophy at the Claretian Institute of Philosophy Owerri, Nigeria (affiliate of Pontifical Urban University Rome), and Theology at the Spiritan International School of Theology Enugu, Nigeria (affiliate of Duquesne University Pittsburgh, U.S.A). I have Bachelors degree in philosophy (B. Phil) from Urban University Rome and Masters degree in theology (M.A. Theology) from Duquesne University.

s In 1994 I was pastor at St. Michael’s Church Inyin Ekiti in the Western part of Nigerian and in 1996 became the formator of our seminarians at the philosophy house in Nekede, Nigeria. From 1997 to 2000 I was the provincial secretary of the Claretian Province of Nigeria while lecturing part-time at the Claretian Institute of Philosophy Owerri, Nigeria. I came to the United States in 2001 in collaboration with the American Claretians, and served for three years in Springfield – Cape Girardeau Diocese as Chaplain at the Catholic Campus Ministry in Springfield Missouri.

Presently I am doing my Masters Degree program in Religious Education at Fordham University New York. I am happy with my religious calling and enjoy ministering to God’s people here at St. Michael’s Church.
